About Chiba City Arts Triennale

Located in Chiba City, the capital of Chiba Prefecture, a peaceful suburban city where the urban and rural blend harmoniously, and home to 980,000 residents, a new triennial is set to launch, one that places great value on the activities of its people.

The Chiba City Arts Triennale is an "art project-based" festival where unexpected places within the city are activated, and projects are initiated by anyone who raises their hand. It's a festival where artists, residents, and visitors come together to create something new, offering opportunities to encounter new people, things, and ideas beyond our everyday lives.

Beginning with pre-events in 2024, and aiming for the main festival in the fall of 2025, we will be developing various art projects with diverse themes throughout Chiba City.

※An international art festival held once every three years.

concept

Unlocking Potential,
Empowering People

Through the arts festival, we aim to explore things and ideas, and to empower the people of Chiba. We want to start creative activities from various "chi" (Chiba, land, power, knowledge, universe, blood, transcendence, wisdom, etc.). We hope that the "power" of the people of Chiba will bloom. The concept of "Unlocking Potential, Empowering People" embodies multiple dreams we wish to realize at the Chiba City Arts Triennale. We aim to create a new arts festival that nurtures the region's creativity.
