A unique space combining skateboarding and art will appear above National Route 357. There will be a skateboarding trial experience for children and an iron bead workshop. Enjoy it together with the “Agriculture and Welfare Market” and the “Great Catch Festival”!
A space created by artists and skaters! Experience events also available.
Yuka Numata, the artist behind this project, is from Chiba City. As part of the digital-native generation, she creates unique expressions that move between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces. Her representative works include a series using “iron beads”, commonly used by children for crafting. Though analog creations, her works evoke surprise, as if they’ve leapt out of the digital realm.
For this art project, Yuka Numata ✕ Skaters “Time Lag Park”, Numata will showcase an installation inspired by her memories of the area around National Route 357 and the contrast with its current landscape. The elements within the installation will function as “sections” (obstacles) for skateboarding, and on the day of the event, skaters will actually ride on them. One of the highlights is the way the artwork’s appearance changes dynamically with each movement of the skateboarders. This space will bring together the creativity of both the artist and the skaters.
The venue will also host a beginner-friendly skateboarding trial experience and an iron bead workshop led by the artist, offering activities that can be enjoyed by both children and adults alike!
