Time Lag Park
In the upper space created by the multi-level of National Highway 357 underground, an object that looks like a computer bug is set up, and skaters perform tricks. A computer bug is a kind of electromagnetic signal delay (time lag). At the moment when skateboarders perform acrobatic tricks among these objects, temporal, spatial, and cultural bugs appear in the space.
The road to open up the city
There have been skaters in Chiba since the early 1970s, when skateboarding was imported to Japan. Their community culture fosters a different culture from the institutional community. Street culture, including skateboarding, has always been the dream of boys and girls. While it has been linked to the present, it is also true that it is often restricted in public spaces for reasons of safety, aesthetics, and so on.The project aims to bring together citizens, not just skateboarders, to enjoy skateboards and murals, which are symbolic objects of regulation on the street, but to think together about how to share public space. The goal is to push the limits of tolerance in this city a bit and to encourage people to think about sharing public space.
