In 2026, Chiba City will mark the 900th anniversary of its foundation. To commemorate this significant milestone, the city has launched a series of projects under the banner of the ‘Chiba’s 900th Anniversary Commemoration Projects,’ with the ‘Chiba International Art Festival 2025’ serving as one of its flagship events.

In celebration of this occasion, it has been decided that the festival will be open to the public free of charge.


During the Chiba International Art Festival 2025’s exhibition and presentation period (Friday, 19 September to Monday, 24 November 2025, including public holidays), 37 art projects by 32 artists from Japan and overseas will be presented across the city, showcasing their achievements and developments.


All of these exhibitions and presentations are free to the public, regardless of where you live *. We hope that many people will experience this citizen-participatory art project, which will be held once every three years, starting with this first festival.

*Some donation-based projects and paid talk events are also planned.
