Fukutoshin II _ Chiba Kaihin (Coastal) District Project / Fukutoshin II
Fukutoshin II History survey tour
August 31, 2025
The artist collective “Fukutoshin II” will hold a historical survey tour to explore local history and “Lifestyle Heritage” as part of the Chiba International Art Festival 2025.
This project is an art project in which artists who grew up in Chiba City and consider the seaside area their hometown will work with local residents to uncover the charm of the area through research into the history of the town.
During this tour, participants will explore areas such as the reclaimed land around Kemigawa Beach, focusing on “connecting with Chiba City’s history,” while visiting locations related to participants’ memories and anecdotes—what we call “Lifestyle Heritage.” Following the tour, we plan to hold a mini-presentation session with all participants.
※Those who have not participated in the first or second tours are also welcome to join.
What is Lifestyle Heritage?
Lifestyle Heritage refers to places, landscapes, and objects that exist alongside the everyday memories of local people. It is not something officially recognized as history or heritage by others, but rather refers to places associated with our casual daily lives and memories.
